Markus Blatz: Among Most Cited
In a recently published study analyzing the characteristics of the 100 most cited articles in prosthodontic journals between 1951 and 2019, one by Penn Dental Medicine’s Markus Blatz, professor and chair of the department of preventive and restorative sciences, was among the top 10. The study appeared in the May issue of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry with Dr. Blatz’s “Resin-Ceramic Bonding: A Review of the Literature” ranking sixth for the most citations. At the time of the study, Dr. Blatz’s article, which appeared in The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2003, had been cited 1,052 times.
Articles that are widely cited are considered important in the field of prosthodontics as they can provide information on advances, the areas of most extensive research, and the future direction within the field.
