Photographs by Ed Stemmler Now at the Burrison Gallery
Water and Solitude, Photographs by Ed Stemmler are at the Burrison Gallery now through October 9. Mr. Stemmler enjoys the curious and amazing: the calm before a storm and droplets on the leaves after. He likes details and nuance: frost on a window, a foggy morning in Maine, a sunset over the south rim of the Grand Canyon, a field of wildflowers at dawn, morning dew on spider webs, flowers, birds, life. Photography lets him share memories of these moments with friends and colleagues and are pleasant reminders of his journeys.
He is a graduate of Ursinus College and has worked at Penn for 30 years, currently as a senior data analyst at ISC. In his spare time, he has volunteered as an EMT and as a firefighter. A true polymath, he enjoys woodworking, blacksmithing, masonry and landscape design as well as singing in a local choir, baking, tending his koi pond and attacking the ever-present “old house” maintenance.
The Burrison Gallery, in the University Club at Penn on the 2nd floor of The Inn at Penn, is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
