Launch of Workday Learning on March 6
The University of Pennsylvania will launch Workday Learning on March 6, 2023. Workday Learning will replace Knowledge Link, the University’s current administrative learning management system (LMS). Workday Learning will connect faculty, postdocs, staff, students and other workers with their required training and other learning opportunities directly from Workday, the University’s human capital management platform.
The University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) will continue to use Knowledge Link, and for those University and UPHS faculty, staff, and others who work in both environments—“dual users”—the University and UPHS have been working together to enable a seamless transition, enhanced user experience, and efficient training content and data sharing, including compliance reporting. A new learning portal will provide secure, one-stop access to both Workday Learning and Knowledge Link for those who have training required by the University and UPHS. For more information, please view Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), here.
Workday Learning also replaces Penn Profiler, Penn’s web-based survey in which participants’ responses help identify training required by federal and state laws and regulations, granting agencies, and University policy. Based on job data and learner groups, Workday will automatically assign required training and track learning completion. Where a learning requirement is not automatically triggered, manual assignment by individuals, their managers, and LMS administrators is available.
To facilitate a smooth transition, learners’ Knowledge Link training history and assignments, along with training courses, will migrate to Workday Learning. Integrated access to LinkedIn Learning continues. Learners will have a variety of self-service, online, and live support to assist them in Workday, starting on March 6. Meanwhile, those with robust security roles in Workday Learning, such as learning leads (most Knowledge Link administrators) and instructors, are currently participating in instructor-led training. Security role training will be augmented by ongoing live support by the IT Learning Solutions team and the Penn Employee Solution Center, weekly office hours, and Workday tip sheets and supplementary guidance.
Members of the Penn community are invited to attend a live, virtual demonstration of Workday Learning on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from noon to 1 p.m. ET. The demonstration will be recorded for later access. Get the Zoom registration link by logging into the Workday@Penn website (PennKey required). The Zoom meeting is limited to 300 participants.
