Arjun G. Yodh, the James M. Skinner Professor of Science and director of the Laboratory for Research on the Structure of Matter (LRSM) at Penn, is the recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s Humboldt Research Award. Dr. Yodh, who holds a primary appointment in the department of physics & astronomy and a secondary appointment in the department of radiation oncology at Penn Medicine, was nominated by Hartmut Löwen of the University of Düsseldorf, Germany.

This award is conferred in recognition of lifetime achievements in research. The winner is invited to carry out research projects of his/her own choice in cooperation with specialist colleagues in Germany for a period of up to one year.
