The Garden Railway Display, with architectural wonders from around the world, rolls into the Morris Arboreum for a grand opening celebration Memorial Day weekend: May 24-26. |
(Above) Artist Gary G. Miller’s sculptural installation Papaver Rubrum Giganteum (above) is on display at the Morris Aboretum through June 29. It consists of 300 giant red poppies randomly “planted” in the Aboretum’s Northwestern Meadows. Each ‘poppy’ is made of aluminum and has a dark green-black stem that is approximately ten feet tall and topped by a bright red flower, approximately 20 inches in diameter. Just as real poppies do, these giant poppies sway and bend in the wind, creating a dazzling effect of color and movement.
