A
photo exhibit, Seasonal Views of the
Morris Arboretum, is now in the Lower
Gallery of the Widener Visitor Center
at the Morris Arboretum through April 30.
The exhibit features the work of artist
Linda Berger, a resident of German-town
who has been an Arboretum staff member for
18 years and is a graduate of the Tyler
School of Art. At right, a winter view of
the Swan Pond at the Arboretum. According
to Ms. Berger, Seasonal Views of the Morris
Arboretum includes vistas that evoke ancient
values of seeing and experiencing surprising
elements in the natural landscape. Features
in the Victorian Garden invite emergence
into light and vast open space from darkness.
Favorite sculptures, plants, historic structures
and animals within the cultivated landscape
become beloved icons. This diversity of
experience sets the Morris Arboretum uniquely
apart from all other arboreta worldwide. The
exhibit is free with regular admission:
$8 adults, $6 seniors (65+) and students
(13-18 with ID) and $3 for children (3-12).
Free with PENNCard, members and children
under three.
