Seminar: How to Get a GrantA seminar on The Art and Science of Obtaining Federal Funding will be given Monday, November 10, in Dunlop Auditorium, Stemmler Building to educate fellows, faculty and research trainees on funding opportunities available for research, as well as the procedures involved in preparing a grant, and where to get help at the University. The seminar will run from 1 to 4 p.m., with a light lunch and coffee beforehand. Dr. Phillip Gordon, director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Disease, will give Perspectives from the National Institutes of Health. A group of faculty members assembled by the Office of the Vice Dean for Research and Research Training at PennMed, which sponsors the seminar, will discuss various successful ways to obtain research support. The program is geared to junior faculty, fellows, grant administrators, and other research trainees, but all are welcome to attend. Copies of the 1996-1997 Grant Writing Manual will be distributed.
