Vice Provost for Education Andy Binns announced the appointment of Julie Lyzinski Nettleton as director of the Office of Student Conduct (OSC), beginning November 15, 2014.
Ms. Nettleton has served as the interim director of the OSC since June 2014 and as director of the Office of Alcohol and Other Drug Program Initiatives at Penn since March 2009. She came to Penn in 2005, serving as both associate director and intervention specialist for the former Office of Strategic Initiatives and Alcohol Policy Initiatives.
In her time at Penn, she has presented scholarly research at numerous national conferences and led the development of multiple federal grants from the US Department of Education. Currently a doctoral student in the Graduate School of Education, she holds an MEd in human services and counseling from DePaul University and a BA magna cum laude in psychology and sociology from the University of Notre Dame.
“I am very pleased to welcome Julie to this essential leadership role,” said Vice Provost Binns. “Her wide expertise, and her extensive knowledge of student life at Penn, will make her an invaluable partner in shaping the future of student conduct policies, practices and education at Penn in the years ahead. Indeed, she has already begun these initiatives as interim director, with the energy, insight and collaboration that has characterized all her work at Penn over the past nine years.” |
