Faculty Senate Executive Committee Actions

Chair’s Report: Faculty Senate Chair Dwight Jaggard reported on the activities of the University Council committees over the past year. He also spoke about issues facing colleges and universities in the future, including financial challenges and sexual assault on campus. He noted that the Tri-Chairs had met with representatives from Global Support Services in advance of scheduling them for a SEC presentation in the fall. He advised SEC members who have international travel plans to consult resources available via the Global Resources tab on the U @ Penn website.
Past Chair’s Report: Faculty Senate Past Chair Susan Margulies reported that she attended an Academic Planning and Budget Committee meeting.
Vote on the 2014-2015 University Council Steering Committee Ballots: SEC members voted for the members of the 2014-2015 University Council Steering Committee.
Senate Committee Reports: SEC heard and briefly discussed annual reports given by the chairs of Senate Committees. Senate committee reports can be found in the May 13 issue of Almanac: www.upenn.edu/almanac/volumes/v60/n34/pdf/senate-reports.pdf
Update on Concur from the Vice President for Business Services: Marie Witt, Vice President for Business Services, and Mark Mills, Director of Purchasing Services, reported to SEC on updates made to Concur in response to issues raised by Faculty Senate members earlier in the year. SEC members offered additional comments on persistent problems with Concur and the new travel reimbursement process in general. |
