McNair Scholars for 2011 Cohort: February 15

The McNair Scholars Program at Penn is currently accepting applications from eligible sophomores for its 2011 cohort. McNair Scholars are academically talented undergraduates with an expressed commitment to pursuing a research PhD who are from groups traditionally underrepresented in doctoral programs: low-income, first-generation college students, and/or students who are members of ethnic or racial groups currently underrepresented in graduate education: African American/black, Hispanic/Latino/a, Native American/Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian and Native Pacific Islander. The program provides research training, early scholarly experiences, and preparation for the graduate school application process and doctoral study. Penn undergraduates from all majors and schools are eligible to apply. Faculty and staff members are urged to refer potential applicants to the McNair Scholars website at www.vpul.upenn.edu/aap/mcnairfor complete eligibility guidelines and application materials. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2011.
