Library Director of Financial and Administrative Services

The Penn Libraries announced the appointment of Laurie Fanelly to director of Financial and Administrative Services.

Ms. Fanelly will have primary responsibility for the Libraries’ nearly $60-million annual operating budget, an endowment valued at over $60 million, and will supervise a staff of 12 employees with responsibilities for finance, purchasing, building administration and security.

Ms. Fanelly brings a range of skills to the Penn Libraries, including familiarity with the University’s financial and facilities environments. She has worked in Human Resources at Penn, first in Staff and Labor Relations and then in Learning and Education, where she managed fiscal operations. From there, Ms. Fanelly went on to hold a number of financial positions at the Wharton School until becoming director of Finance and Administration in Penn’s Division of Public Safety in 2006.

Ms. Fanelly has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School and an MBA from Temple’s Fox School of Business and Management.
