Quality of Worklife Workshops

Dealing with the demands of work and your personal life can be challenging. These free workshops, sponsored by Human Resources and led by experts from Penn’s Employee Assistance Program and Quality of Worklife Department, offer information and support for your personal and professional life challenges. Pre-registration is required. You are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch to the sessions. Collaboration as a Peer and a Leader; March 11; noon–1:30 p.m.; free. It’s no surprise that teamwork is integral to success in the workplace. Collaboration enables you to get the best out of others by building strong relationships based on “win-win” philosophies. If you’re looking to enhance your own skills in this area, this workshop can help. You’ll learn how to be a team player and focus on successful outcomes. You’ll also learn how to define various collaboration styles and more.

Talking with Children about Difficult Issues; March 16; noon–1:30 p.m.; free. As a parent, you’re often faced with the responsibility of having conversations with your children that are either difficult for them, difficult for you, or both. This seminar can help you prepare for these kinds of emotional situations. You’ll learn how to effectively communicate and how to deal with your emotions as well as your child’s.
