Dancing to Bring Harmony

Tewa Dancers from the North (above) a traditional Native American dance troupe, will perform on Saturday, November 14 at 2 p.m. at the Penn Museum. From the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo (“Place of the Strong People”) in Northern New Mexico, the troupe is led by founder and director Andrew Garcia, former governor of the pueblo, and a respected elder. The troupe’s dance is considered a prayer and a duty, performed to help the seasons flow and to bring harmony to the universe.  The event is free with Museum admission donation and is co-sponsored by the Center for Native American Studies and Atkin Olshin Schade Architects.
