A music video created by Penn students conveys the many resources available at the Weigle Information Commons at Van Pelt-Dietrich Library. Ryan Leonard directed the video in 2007 after winning the WIC’s first annual video Mashup contest. Since then, the video and song, based on Petula Clark’s “Downtown” has had thousands of YouTube hits and has been viewed by people all over the world. Mr. Leonard, president of the Chinese a cappella group, PennYo, is currently working on a video about hand washing for HUP. Members of the Penn community can learn to make their own songs and videos with free workshops at WIC. To see the video and a list of workshops, visit http://wic.library.upenn.edu/
