Action Agenda: High Impact Philanthropy for the Economic Downturn
PDF
April 28, 2009, Volume 55, No. 31

The Center for High Impact Philanthropy at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy & Practice has recently released an Action Agenda: High Impact Philanthropy for the Economic Downturn, as the blueprint for a philanthropic investment guide to be released this June. Housing, health, and hunger are three specific areas where private philanthropy has the potential to produce large-scale social impact in the U.S. The Center is encouraging collaboration in this effort from researchers, funders, policymakers, community leaders, and nonprofits to help provide smart and effective options to target those in need.

The agenda can be viewed in its entirety on the Center’s website: www.impact.upenn.edu/our_work/ViewEconDown.html. Feedback is strongly encouraged and appreciated.

The Center was established by alumni of Penn’s Wharton School and is housed at Penn’s School of Social Policy & Practice. In less than three years, the Center has emerged as a pioneer in the areas of social impact measurement and effective philanthropy.
