Blood Drive: September 6
September 4, 2007, Volume 54, No. 2

The American Red Cross will hold a Faculty/Staff Blood Drive on Thursday, September 6, in Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Currently, there is an urgent need for all blood types, so if you are eligible, please sign up to donate; the link to sign up for the drive is: http://givesblood.org/go.php?bdc=979865.

If you are a first-time donor, you must weigh at least 110 pounds and be 17 years of age or over.  You will want to “iron-up” in the days leading up to your donation; eat foods rich in iron such as poultry, red meat, green leafy vegetables or raisins.  Also, please remember to eat a meal (breakfast or lunch, not just a banana or a carrot!) before donating. You should double up on your water intake the day before and the day after donation. If you have further questions about donations or eligibility, please email me or call (215) 451-5363. Please, help save a life!
