Open Enrollment is Underway!
April 10, 2007, Volume 53, No. 29

Open Enrollment for the 2007-2008 plan year began last week.  You should already have received your personalized Open Enrollment materials at your home address.  Visit the online enrollment website at www.upenn.edu/u@penn (click on “Open Enrollment” under Announcements) 24 hours a day between now and midnight on Friday, April 20 to make changes to your benefit elections.

Stop by the Biomedical Research Building (BRB) II/III tomorrow, April 11, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for an Open Enrollment and Health Fair.  You can speak with representatives from Penn’s healthcare providers and administrators, make your Open Enrollment elections onsite, take advantage of free health screenings, and get information on various health-related topics.  Faculty and staff at New Bolton Center can attend an Open Enrollment Fair this Thursday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Alumni Hall.

Keep in mind that if you don’t make changes to your coverage by April 20, your current coverage will continue for the 2007-2008 plan year (July 1–June 30).  New rates for the medical, dental and vision plans will begin in June paychecks, and all plan changes will take effect on July 1, 2007.  It’s important to note that if you have dependent children age 19–23 who are full-time college students, their coverage will be dropped as of July 1 unless you actively recertify their student status during Open Enrollment.

More detailed information about Open Enrollment is available on the Human Resources website at www.hr.upenn.edu (click on “Open Enrollment” under Benefits).  If you have any questions, please call the Penn Benefits Center at 1-888-PENNBEN (1-888-736-6236), Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.
