Penn Family Show and Picnic: April 29
Dear Penn Colleagues,
It’s almost Children’s Festival time, and that means the annual Penn Family Show & Picnic will soon be here, too! Thousands of Penn faculty, staff and students have enjoyed this fun-filled event since it was launched in 1998.
This year the Penn Family Show & Picnic will be held on Sunday, April 29. It begins at 4 p.m. in the Zellerbach Theatre of the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts with a performance of Lelavision’s Physical Music, a show like none you’ve ever seen before. Combining a variety of imaginative, eye-catching sculptures and extraordinary physical movement these hilarious players leap around the stage while whacking away at suspended drums, bump about after disappearing inside metal spheres, and balance aboard a boat-like contraption that emits grumbling tones.
Following the show, a picnic of kid-friendly food will be served on the Annenberg Plaza at 5 p.m. while WXPN Kids Corner favorites Ernie & Neal rock out on stage with a musical combo of singing/playing and storytelling. And, our old friend the Phillie Phanatic plans to drop by as well!
I hope you’ll join us. Your special price for both shows and the picnic is only $6 for adults (regular price $12) and $5 for children (regular price $10). To get your discounted tickets, please present your PennCard at the Annenberg Center Box Office, 3680 Walnut Street. There is no limit on the number of tickets you can purchase at these special prices, but they are subject to availability. As an added bonus, you can purchase tickets to other Festival shows for only $9 (adult) and $7 (children) after purchasing your Show & Picnic tickets.
I look forward to seeing you at the Festival!
