Automatic Voice Recognition Discontinued June 1
ISC Networking and Telecommunications has been running a trial of an Automatic Voice Recognition service (currently available at (215) 746-4242) that allows callers to interact with an automated attendent, speaking the name of the person whose number they would like to reach. This service can also be reached through the University operators’ after hours menu. During the trial ISC N&T determined that the service offers an unacceptable low accuracy rate. Because of this, the service will be discontinued starting June 1, 2005. Evaluations for a replacement will begin shortly. In the meantime, the University operator service will be backed up with a voice mail menu after hours.
