Policy on Security of e-PHI

The February 22, 2005 issue of Almanac included a Policy on Security of Electronic Protected Health Information (PHI), which was submitted For Comment. This policy was created by the University’s HIPAA Security Compliance Team and provides those areas affected by the HIPAA Security Rule with the policies required to safeguard electronic forms of identifiable health information. No comments regarding the policy were received and the policy has now been adopted effective April 21, 2005.
