Departure of Director of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity

Effective March 1, 2003, Valerie Hayes, Executive Director for the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Programs, resigned her position at Penn to become the Director of the Equal Opportunity Office and Special Advisor to the Provost at Yale University. While we will miss her, we wish Valerie well in her new position.

We expect to identify the new Executive Director for the Office before the end of the academic year. Until a new Executive Director is in place, the investigative, reporting and compliance functions of the office will be handled through other offices.
