Sam Lundquist: Development

Samuel T. Lundquist will become Assistant Vice President for Development on September 1. His appointment was announced last week by Virginia B. Clark, Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations. He brings with him a decade of senior administrative experience at the Wharton School, as well as extensive experience in undergraduate and graduate admissions.

Currently the Managing Director of Administrative Services for Wharton's Graduate Division, Mr. Lundquist served as Chief of Staff for former Wharton Dean Thomas Gerrity from 1996 to 1999.

Prior to that, Mr. Lundquist held a series of administrative positions in admissions, most recently at Wharton, where he directed MBA admissions and financial aid from 1992 to 1996, and before that at Dartmouth's Tuck School, and at Bucknell University. He is nationally recognized for his work, and served as chair and vice chair of the Graduate Management Admission Council during his four- year tenure as a member of the Council's Board of Directors.

As Assistant Vice President for Development, Mr. Lundquist will apply his expertise in strategic planning, personnel development, marketing and communications, and the design of customized databases. He will play a key role in updating Development and Alumni Relations' information technology resources, in strengthening the School/Center and Regional development programs, and in focusing additional attention on recruitment, retention, and training in an increasingly competitive staffing environment.
