Pilot and Feasibility Grant Program 1999 Competition: Call for Proposals

Penn's Center for Molecular Studies in Digestive and Liver Disease seeks applications to its Pilot and Feasibility Grant Program. Proposals should be related to the focus of the Center, which encompasses molecular studies on the biology or disease of the alimentary tract, pancreas, and liver. Relevant investigations include those in developmental biology, regulation of gene expression, growth, differentiation and carcinogenesis, the biology of stem cells, molecular genetics, gene therapy, and immunology, including growth factors and cytokines. Grants range from $10,000 to $15,000 for a twelve month period, and are eligible for one competitive renewal. Faculty members with U.S. citizenship or permanent visas who meet the requirements below are invited to apply.

  1. New investigators who have never held extramural support (R29, RO1, PO1).
  2. Investigators who wish to apply their expertise in other areas of biomedical research to a problem in digestive and liver disease.
  3. Investigators in digestive and liver disease who wish to study an area that represents a significant departure from currently funded work.

Completed proposals are due Monday, February 8, 1999.
