The Faculty Club's October Exhibit:
Works by Sam Maitin
Recent Works and Other Flights of Fancy by Sam Maitin, the show at the Faculty Club now through October 25, will open with a reception this
afternoon, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Most of the work on view was completed after
he returned recently from China, where he was commissioned to create and
install a large mural in a new building in Shanghai. Other drawings, prints and paintings were created in response to writings of authors and poets he
admires. Mr. Maitin's presence is also evident at the Annenberg School of Communication, where the relief
mural Celebration, fills the east wall
of the main lobby, and at the Wharton School's Vance Hall, where his lively banners line the main floor corridor. Mr. Maitin's posters commemorating
many occasions, including the Dental School's Centenary, are now
collector's items.
