Judge James Fitzgerald is to preside in the trial of Archer and Pennington. Jury selection is scheduled to begin on Thursday at the Criminal Justice Center, 1301 Filbert. Once the trial begins, Dr. Ziller said, bus transportation will be made available for members of the Penn community who wish to attend the proceedings. Earlier Judge Temin decertified one of the five defendants, Khaalis Edmondson; he was convicted in juvenile court of second-degree murder and other counts, and awaits sentencing.
Two of the four charged as adults, Antoine Saunders and Ollie Taylor, have pleaded guilty to murder in the first degree and other charges; their sentencing is expected in March.
