WANTED BY THE FBI

Francisco Humberto Iglesias, 54, was indicted
by a Federal Grand Jury on June 18, 1998, in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
for his role in the smuggling of an ancient Peruvian Moche backflap into
the United States.
Iglesias was charged with conspiracy, smuggling and Interstate Transportation
of Stolen Property. It is alleged that while he was the Counsel General
from Panama in New York City, he used his diplomatic status to smuggle the
gold backflap into the United States. It is also alleged in the indictment
that, using his vehicle which had a diplomatic license plate, he drove two
other coconspirators from New York to meet with undercover FBI agents in
order to sell the artifact for 1.6 million dollars.

He remains a fugitive. Anyone with information regarding his location is
