Leaving
Rose McManus, Secretary of the University
President Judith Rodin has announced that Rose McManus has indicated
her intent to resign as Secretary of the University as of July 31, 2000.
Ms. McManus has decided to focus her attention full-time on her family.
"Rose has been a valuable member of the administration, and we will
miss her advice and counsel," President Rodin said. "She has markedly
increased the professionalism of the Office of the Secretary in her time
here, and the staff in the office are well-positioned to continue to carry
out the work of the office in support of the Trustees, Boards of Overseers,
University Council, dean search and review, and the ceremonial functions
of the University."
Ms. McManus will remain available as a consultant to the University through
the November meetings of the Board of Trustees and in assisting the University
in a transition to a new Secretary. A search is scheduled to begin immediately. |
Ken Wildes, Director of University Communications
President Judith Rodin has announced with regret that Ken Wildes, Director
of University Communications, will be leaving the University on or about
July 31, 2000. Mr. Wildes has decided to explore some very attractive professional
opportunities in other parts of the country.
"I am grateful for Ken's service over the past four years,"
President Rodin said. "Each of these years has been eventful, full
of good news about Penn to report to the world as well as bringing our share
of crises and mini-crises. Ken has done a great job both communicating the
good news and managing the bad, and we are all in his debt."
The University has initiated a national search for Ken's successor. |
